Resolutions ...

I typically do a *monthly* resolution where I pick a month and try to change something about myself or restrict myself on something. Since a year is so long and I'm pretty sure that I won't be able to keep something up for the entire time. So, here is the list. And I'll look back to this post at the end of the year ... maybe ...

January: Internet At Home (includes BlackBerry data) Free
February: Sleep In Free
March: Sugar Free
April: Clean Apartment
May: Credit Card Free
June: Essential Car Travel Only
July: "Luxury" Spending Free
August: Resolution Free!
September: Brown Bag (bring in lunch)
October: No Overtime
November: Alcohol Free
December: No TV

I don't expect some of the months (January) to work well.

A few little notes:
* Blogging in January is going to be difficult - but we shall see how it goes.
* Sugar free means no processed sugars. Natural sugars such as oranges are ok
* Sleep in free is weekdays no getting into work past 9:00 am
* Credit Card free: regular monthly billing charged at a credit card is acceptable
* Essential car travel includes grocery shopping, anything that isn't within walking distance - other modes of transit also work
* No Overtime: Work what you are scheduled for - no more, no less
* The main reason behind the "No TV Month" is simply that I have a growing stack of unopened and sealed DVDs that I have yet to watch

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! to all one or two readers out there.

I got one of the best gifts from my friends. A signed Tom Brady picture. Even if the signature isn't real, its still one of the best gifts I've gotten without any of my own input. Not to fault, everyone else who has gotten me something ...

My boss got me beer! A four pack of Kilkenny and a bottle of Bellvue-Kriek! I'm looking forward on tasting those beverages when I can drink again - hopefully early February *fingers crossed*

I haven't seen the folks yet. I'll be going later today. Post will probably be edited ;)

Its been quite a terrible week for me. Or more like month.

Hopefully the new year will be better.

Even the Strongest ...

It wasn't pretty.
It hurts like hell.
And I couldn't take it.
I don't know why.
I had to leave.

It feels like my fault.
I have to fix it.
I have to try.

It feel like its my fault.
I have to fix it.
I have to try.

Even though its not my problem.
I have to try.

Super movies!

Wow! Supergirl is a really bad movie. Like really bad. Bad to my standards and my standards are pretty low. It as bad as Superman 4!

On the other hand, Superman 2: The Richard Donner cut was super excellent. I really enjoyed it. There are MAJOR differences between the original cut and the Donner cut. If you don't know the back story about Superman 2, here is a quick history lesson. Richard Donner (the director for Superman: The Movie) shot both Superman: The Movie and Superman 2 at the same time. However, in order to meet the Superman: The Movie deadline, they stopped shooting Superman 2 to focus on the original. Once Superman was released, Donner was going to come back and finish Superman 2. However, over creative differences (I believe mostly money issues) Donner was FIRED. Not only was Donner fired, but the great John Williams (composer of Superman theme) was fired as well. Donner was replaced by Richard Lester, who finished Superman 2 and directed Superman 3.

**** Spoilers Follow (highlight to view) ****
* The France scene to open the movie in the original ... GONE
* The whole silly Niagara Falls honeymoon apartment bit ... GONE
* The Lois jumping into the water ... GONE
* How did Clark get his super powers back? The Lester cut didn't explain it too well (because the Salkinds are cheap - Brando wanted too much money), but Donner cut explains it
* There is a scene (screen test though) where Lois finally confronts Clark about being Superman (and *shoots* Clark with a gun)
**** Spoilers End ****

Its a totally different movie. I like the Donner cut because he took the movie more seriously. Lester seemed to put in 'jokes' and other humour (when the 3 aliens were blowing wind against the crowd, Lester threw in alot of jokes like a man's toupee gets blown off his head or the man in the telephone booth falling over). Lester seems to remind me of Zoidberg's filmmaking uncle, who tried to be comedy in everything.

I agree with alot of people out there who say, "Superman 2 was good. Superman 2: The Donner Cut is better."

I still shake my head at the firing of John Williams. That's just silly. Its John Williams.

Smile ...

Lately, it hasn't been very good. There are good days and there are bad.
Today wasn't really a good day ... until someone smiled at me.

Its strange, sometimes a smile from a stranger can make your day.
